Simple Tips for PMS

Natural PMS Remedies

Most of us don't feel too great around the time of the month that
our period hits. Some of us get full-fledged PMS, others are just a
little grumpy, bloated and are craving chocolate and ice cream. No
matter how much or how little PMS affects you, there are some
simple and natural remedies to make those days a little easier.

For example, are you drinking enough water throughout the day?
Dehydration has many unpleasant side effects, including making your
period and PMS worse. Drink at least 8 eight-ounce glasses of water
a day to make sure you are well hydrated. Surprisingly enough,
drinking more water is one of the best treatments for bloating.

YOUR BEAUTY

Create Sexy Lips

To create sexy starlet lips trace the outer edge of your mouth with
a lip pencil that matches your lips. Next, apply a slightly lighter
lip color over your lips, and then blot. Finally, purse your lips
and dab a little white eye shadow right in the center of them.

Love Your Nail!

Your Nails are special..
Proper Nail Care..

Do not subject your hands and nails to extremely hot water, harsh chemicals, and strong household cleaners. Do wear gloves.

Do apply hand lotion regularly to keep the hands moisturized and aid nails that crack or chip. If nails are soft and tend to tear, avoid putting lotion on the nails themselves.

Do use a cuticle cream daily or massage a dab of olive oil into the cuticles.

Don't file or buff the nails excessively. This can think and weaken nails.

Do be alert to allergic reactions from formaldehyde in nail polish or acrylics in sculptured nails, tips, and nail glues. The reaction may show up as a rash or itchiness on places touched by the nails, like the eyelids, cheeks, or neck - rather than on the less sensitive skin of the hands.

Manicure Basics:

A home manicure, once you learn the basics, can be an easy weekly routine to improve the appearance of your nails and hands.

File each nail with an emery board from the sides in toward the center. File in one direction only, don't "saw" back and forth.

Soak fingertips in warm soapy water to soften cuticles.

Apply cuticle remover and gently push back the cuticle with the blunt end of an orangewood stick.

Trim any hangnails with a small nail scissors. Do not otherwise cut the cuticle, as it is the protective barrier for the growth center of the nail.
Scrub nails in soapy water and clean under the nails with an orangewood stick wrapped in cotton.

Dry hands and apply hand lotion.

Polish Tips:

Polishing the nails creates a finished look, but your nails will be healthier if you let them go at least one day a week without polish. Here are some tips for a professional looking polish job:

Wipe nails with polish remover after the manicure to remove any residue of soap or lotion.

Don't polish the underside of the nail. When it's time to remove the polish, chemicals in the polish remover can life the nail away from the nail bed, providing a chance for infection to develop.

Apply a base coat and two to three thin coats of polish, rather than one thick one, for better coverage. An additional clear top coat protects against chipping.

Tidy up polish that's strayed onto the fingers with the following tool: a moistened toothpick wrapped in a bit of cotton puff and saturated in nail polish remover.

If you have to dry polish quickly, try dipping fingers carefully in a bowl of ice water.

Polish nails away from direct sunlight, which may cause bubbles in the finish.

Beauty Secrets From The East

How Scented Aromatherapy Oils Can be Helpful to Your Health and Beauty.

Aromatherapy brings together the medicinal properties that are known to exist in plants with traditional healing massage with oil. Over the centuries many cultures have used herbal oils to treat illness and encourage well-being and beauty. The first use was by infusing herbs in olive or Castor oil but by AD 1000 a Persian philosopher and physician developed the process of distillation, as we now know it.

Essential oils are extracted from the flowers, leaves, roots and stalks of plants and some trees. It is preferred that essential oils are derived from organically grown plants, thus avoiding the use of harmful chemicals.

Plant oils can be broken down into chemicals for example ketones, phenols and alcohols, which are believed the have healing properties and a key part of an aromatherapists training will be to understand the effects of these elements, as if used incorrectly they can be toxic.

Essential oils are absorbed into the body either by inhalation through the nose or through the pores of the skin during massage and molecules within the oils are thought to enter the bloodstream and into the nervous system to influence physical and emotional well-being. These oils are usually used diluted. A normal dilution is ten drops of essential oil to 20ml of carrier oil, though less essential oil would be used in cases of sensitive skin or if pregnant. Now let us discover some essential oils and how they may be helpful to your health.

Lavender is antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic and sedative. It is useful for nervous tension, digestive disorders and skin conditions.

Peppermint is carminative, decongestant and antispasmodic. It is useful for respiratory infection and digestive disorders. Peppermint should always be used in a low dilution, not used on children under twelve and not used together with homeopathic remedies.

Tea tree is antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal. It is useful for respiratory problems, skin conditions and gynecological problems.

German chamomile is sedative, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic and antispasmodic. It is useful in conditions associated with allergies, nervous tension, digestive disorders and skin conditions. It should be noted that this essential oil should not be used during pregnancy and in some cases may cause dermatitis.

Rosemary is decongestant, analgesic and stimulant and is useful for respiratory and circulatory problems, digestive disorders and nervous tension.

It should not be use if you are epileptic, pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure.

Sandalwood is decongestant, sedative and antiseptic and can be useful for nervous tension, respiratory problems, skin conditions and genito-urinary conditions.
Clary sage is analgesic, sedative and antispasmodic. It is useful for gynecological problems, digestive disorders and nervous tension. This essential oil should be avoided before and after drinking alcohol and not used at any stage of pregnancy except to encourage labor.

There is not extensive research into the claims for the effectiveness of aromatherapy, though the psychological effects of smell have had a great deal of investigation.

However researchers found that epileptics in a psychiatric hospital in Birmingham had fewer fits when they were relaxed from the use of essential oils. Trials in a London hospital also found that cardiac patients felt calmer when massaged with diluted neroli oil as apposed to vegetable oil alone. Other research on cardiac patients found that a particular type of lavender proved more effective than another and patients in a London cancer hospital participated in a study using nutmeg, Valerian and neroli oils, reported similar results.

These conclusions suggest that this effect cannot be attributed simply to massage alone.

Today's Beauty Issues

Weight Loss..Is it possible?

The right approach to weight loss will guarantee your success. Ask yourself the following questions.

1) Why do I want to lose weight?

If you answered "I want to look good for a party" or "I want to look good for a high school reunion". Then there is no way you will succeed to lose the weight and keep it off. This is because as soon as your party or reunion is over, you will go right back to your previous lifestyle and eat all the food you've been depriving yourself earlier. As a result, you may even gain more weight than you have lost.

f you truly want to be successful, then you should want the weight to come off and stay off permanently.

2) What am I willing to do to lose this weight?

Yes, it does take some sacrifice to lose weight. You can't expect to lose weight by doing nothing. Especially since doing nothing was what got you here in the first place.

If you answered "I want to workout regularly and eat the right foods, but I just don't have the time because I'm just too busy." Then you're just giving yourself an excuse to do nothing. Honestly, if you have time to watch your favorite TV shows every night or if you have time to drive to a restaurant, wait to be seated, wait to order and wait to get your food, then you have time to plan and make your own meal.

If you find this question too hard to answer, try breaking it down by setting mini goals. "What am I willing to do to lose 5 lbs and keep it off?" Here are some little things you can do.

- Drink more water or flavored water instead of soft drinks.
- Work out during the commercials while you're watching TV. Do jumping-jacks, crunches, push-ups, bicep curls, etc...
- Eat slower. Try chewing slower and take a sip of water between each bite. It takes about 20 minutes for your body to take your brain that it's full. So try to take 20 minutes or more to finish your meal.
- If you want to eat some potato chips, ice cream or anything else that is bad' for you, then put some into a small bowl and eat it slowly and really savor and enjoy it. A little indulgence here and there is ok, just don't keep refilling the bowl.

Once you're achieved your mini goal, set a new one and add healthier foods and more exercise to your lifestyle.

3) When will I be satisfied?

Different people have different standards of success. One person may be completely happy with their body while carrying 20-30 lbs of extra weight while others may never be happy until they look like swimsuit models. Decide for yourself what you want to achieve and what will make you happy.

Good luck!

A woman is truly beautiful when her own beauty is reflecting on to others.
