Men’s Beauty Skin Revealed

Men’s Skincare Secrets Revealed

Did you know that there really are only a few differences between men and women’s skin and you can actually use a lot of the same skincare products, if not all! Here are some truths behind the differences between our skin and our guys:

  • Women’s skin age faster than men’s because we lose collagen faster. So the men are lucky enough not to have to invest in all of the anti-aging products that we do to stay young. However, men do lose collagen so a little lift never hurt.
  • Men have thicker skin than women; this is the most popular one of all. Yes, men do have a thicker skin, but only by 20-30 %. This helps the men not get as many fine lines and wrinkles as quickly as women do, but that’s not to say it won’t happen. Don’t gloat men, you will get wrinkles one day!
  • Because men have more hair follicles on their face, their skin is more oily which also helps keep them young. Shaving everyday helps to exfoliate the skin and bring the new skin cells to the surface quickly. The down side to this is that it is proven that men are more prone to skin cancer than women so do not forget the sunscreen!

Now let’s talk product. I know you men out there only want the very best in skincare, so why is it that you are always and only going to men’s products? You are more than welcome to share in the luxury we women have of going to any cosmetic brand and finding what we need. So go ahead and use your ladies product and see what you think. Men’s skincare brands are great in that they smell great and are usually blended with a lot of essential oils to help with a close shave and soften the skin.

Stay tuned for my favorites on men’s skincare. I am like all of you ladies out there, I want my guy to take care of his skin too, but sometimes they just need a little help.

Facial Tips JFor You

Among the most basic of skin care routines that beauty consultants face queries about are facial tips and tricks to rejuvenate, tone and make the face supple and serene. How to bring back the glow is the question foremost on the minds of most men and women considering getting a facial done.

The Importance of a Facial
The best facial is one that constitutes use of natural ingredients because they contain all of the essential vitamins that the skin needs and are able to revitalize it without the worry of harsh chemical additives that can affect the balance of the skin. For dry skins, there is a whole wide range of special facial care oils that nourish and care for the skin while giving great results almost instantly. Beauticians opine that facial care is one of the most important stages in any person, especially a woman's, everyday routine. The easy availability of different types of facial masks and creams has come as a boon for all those desiring a flawless complexion by ridding themselves of acne and blackheads. For such persons, facial masks are a real find as they help to achieve the correspondence to the conventional standards of beauty.

Facial Tips and Tricks:
Choosing a facial mask requires one to pay keen attention to the skin type and purchase a facial mask in accordance with the skin?s needs. These few minutes dedicated to finding the right kind of facial mask is what will spell the difference for the freshened and revitalized look to your face.
The other great benefit of commercially available facial masks is that they require minimum effort on your part as all the beautification, detoxification and exfoliation work is done by the active ingredients of the facial masks.
A facial mask is a unique and instantaneous way to complement the daily skin care routine and adds to the breathing power granted to the pores of the skin when combined with the beauty regime of cleansing, toning and moisturizing.
Whether your facial is the mask variety or cream-and-wash kind, take care that it must not be done too frequently as this can endanger the ph balance of your skin. Applying a facial mask should be restricted to a weekly procedure and correspond to your skin type to ensure the most positive beautifying effect to your face.
If you have a dry skin, look for facials that will replenish the moisture needed by your facial skin and go in for products that offer coco or shea butter, lanolin, Vaseline, natural or scented fruit or nut-extract oils for extra nourishment. Fruit extracts like strawberry, peach, apricot and banana with milk components are believed to rejuvenate and hydrate dry skin.
Choose a facial that will soften the upper derma layers and improve its color, clean and contract, intensify circulation of blood so you get that healthy, youthful glow on your face.
Always thoroughly cleanse your skin to receive the maximum benefit of a home facial and include the neck area for massaging and treating during a facial too!

Eating Habits to Prevent Breast Cancer

What we eat is what we get.

The truth is, we are miles away from any guaranteed protection against
breast cancer. But, at this point, we can look at improving our odds by including (and avoiding) certain foods and nutrients in our diet. The groundbreaking report from the American Institute of Cancer Research (Food, Nutrition, and the Prevention of Cancer: a global perspective, 1997) noted which foods, based on research results thus far, probably or possibly decreased breast cancer risk and which foods/components probably or possibly increased risk. You'll find many of their conclusions in the 10 Steps below.

Step 1
Enjoy more fruits. They contribute powerful antioxidants, phytochemicals, and fiber.

Step 2
Enjoy more vegetables. They contribute other powerful antioxidants, phytochemicals and they also contribute fiber.

Step 3
Work a Carotenoid-rich food into your day (cantaloupe, mango, beet greens, butternut squash, chili peppers, dandelion greens, dock/sorrel greens, hubbard squash, kale, mustard greens, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potato, swiis chard, turnip greens, winter squash, and yams).

Step 4
Eat more fiber, especially from whole grains. Phytochemicals found in whole grains have been found to reduce risk of breast and colon cancers in animal studies.

Step 5
Keep fat, saturated fat, and animal fat moderate. Researchers are still trying to figure out if and how the amount of fat (as well as the types of fat) in our food changes our risk for breast cancer. Results from animal studies have suggested the possibility that the amount and type of fat we eat could encourage or discourage certain breast tumors.

Step 6
Switch to monounsaturated fats. Research has been showing that monounsaturated oils, such as olive and canola oil, do not have many cancer-promoting effects (Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 97:16, 1997).

Step 7
Drink little or no alcohol. At least 50 studies show that alcohol may play a role in breast cancer risk.

Step 8Emphasize variety in food choices. Eating various foods will give many different nutrients and helpful phytochemicals.

Step 9
Try to keep extra weight off as you age. A Harvard University study showed that women who gained 44 to 55 pounds after age 18 had almost double the risk of developing breast cancer following menopause, compared with women who had gained only a few pounds.

Step 10
Get bitten by the fitness bug! (or)

Step 11
Try to exercise at least 4 hours a week--even if it is just walking. Some studies have found a reduced risk of breast cancer among women who exercise regularly or who were athletic as adolescents.

Hope these steps good to you.

Shaping Your Body

Have you ever noticed that your body shape is quite different from that of your best friend, sister, or coworker? Have you been wondering why some people have that hourglass figure, while others are more pear-like in appearance? Well, this is because every man and woman is born with a specific body type and body shape. Depending upon your genetics, as well as your exercise routine and diet, your body shape may be quite different from those around you. Not everyone likes the body type or shape that they are born with, but there are ways to make the most of what you have. Here are some tips on how to identify your body type and shape as well as how to sculpt it with the best possible exercises.

What is Body Type?
Everybody is born with a different body type. This is why every man and woman has a different body shape, and develops different levels of body fat and muscle mass. Your body type is completely determined by genetics. You will probably share the same body type as one of your parents, or your sister or brother. Because body type is a genetic trait, it is usually very difficult or impossible to change body types.

The Three Body Types
There are three different body type classifications:

Endomorphs: Endomorphs tend to have bigger bones that the other body types. These men and women usually have round faces with larger thighs and hips. Endomorphs have arms and legs that tend to be short and tapering, giving them a stocky appearance. Most endomorphs have comparatively small hands and feet and a high waist. Additionally, endomorphs have higher levels of body fat than the other body types, but they can also build muscle and lean mass easily. Weight loss is most difficult for the endomorph body type.
Mesomorphs: Mesomorphs are usually described as having an athletic build. They often have an hourglass or ruler shape, and gain muscle mass easily. The majority of mesomorphs have broad shoulders and a narrow waist. They have a fast metabolism and can lose weight more easily than endomorphs.
Ectomorphs: Ectomorphs have a thin, linear appearance. Most ectomorphs look like rulers, with narrow waists, hips, and shoulders. Ectomorphs can lose weight easily and tend to have low levels of body fat. However, they also have a harder time gaining lean muscle mass.
Few people actually fall distinctly into one category. Instead, it is much more likely that you will be a combination of the body types. Common combinations include ecto-mesomorph and endo-mesomorph.

What is Body Shape?
In addition to your body type, you will also find that you have a distinct body shape. Your body shape is based upon the size of your physical features and the overall balance of your body. Men and women tend to have different body shapes. Men are often described as having a rectangular shape or a cone shape. Women are typically described as having hourglass, pear, apple, or ruler body shapes.

Determining Your Body Shape
Before you can perform the right exercises for your body, you need to determine which type of body shape you have.

Hourglass: Women with an hourglass shape are often envied by all of their friends. This is because hourglasses have well-proportioned upper and lower bodies, with a distinctively narrow waist. However, if you are an hourglass, you may find that you tend to gain weight all over your body, particularly in your hips and chest area. Hourglasses tend to be endomorphs or mesomorphs.
Pear: Pear-shaped women tend to have larger lower bodies and smaller upper bodies. If you are a pear, you will find that your hips are slightly wider than your shoulders and that you tend to gain weight below your waist. Pears usually have small chests and flat stomachs. Most pears are mesomorphs.
Apple: Apples are generally bigger on the top half of their bodies than on the bottom half. They commonly have slim hips and a large chest and stomach. Apples tend to gain weight above the waist or along the backside. The majority of apples are mesomorphs or endomorphs.
Ruler: Women with a ruler shape tend to be waif-like and slim. Rulers have no large differences between the size of their hips, waists, and shoulders. Rulers tend to put on weight in their stomach and backside, while maintaining slender arms and legs. Most rulers are ectomorphs.
Making the Most of Your Shape
Though you may not be 100% satisfied with your body type or shape, there are ways that you can help to make the most of your body's characteristics. Here are some exercises that you can perform to will aid in toning your body, whatever your shape.

If you are an Hourglass'
If you are have an hourglass figure, then you should be focusing on both cardio and resistance exercises. Cardio will assist in keeping your weight in check, while resistance exercises will help to maintain balance between your upper and lower body. Vary your repetitions and keep your resistance weights light so as not to build too much muscle mass. Here are some great exercises that you may want to try:

slow jogging
stationary biking (with light resistance)
jumping jacks
swimming
bicep curls, shoulder presses, and squats
If you are a Pear'
If you are a pear you will want to focus on exercises that will balance out the top half of your body with the bottom half of your body. You will also want to try to thin down your lower half. To achieve this, focus on aerobic activities that work out your lower body, and resistance exercises that will build your upper body. Use light weights and perform high repetitions of exercises. Some great activities include:

walking
cycling (with low resistance)
elliptical training
jumping rope
leg lifts and dips
push ups, chin ups, and shoulder presses
If you are an Apple'
If you are an apple, you will want to focus on aerobic training in order to slim down and lose body fat. By working on the lower half of your body, you can help balance out your chest and shoulders. Look to perform exercises that are low-resistance and involve low repetitions, such as:

stairclimbing
walking on an incline
running
leg squats, leg presses, and deadlifts
If you are a Ruler'
If you are a ruler, you will be able to perform pretty much any activity you want to. Perform cardio activities to help you lose weight in problem areas, such as the buttocks and stomach. You will especially want to build muscle mass through resistance exercise. To ensure that you build a symmetrical body shape, all of the muscle groups should be emphasized and routinely given a workout. Focus on:

stretching
sit-ups
step classes
spinning
walking or jogging on an incline
squats
bench presses and shoulder presses.

Inexpensive Face Masks

* MAYONNAISE. Apply whole egg mayonnaise on your face (right from the jar) for about 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Great skin care treatment.
Inexpensive Face Masks right from your kitchen

* PEACH & BRANDY. Mash up a peach (use ripe, canned or frozen) and mix in a tablespoon of brandy. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse off.

* TOMATO MASK. For oily skin, mash up a ripe tomato and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm (not hot) water.

* BANANA MASH. Mash up a very ripe banana. Add just enough honey to make a soft pulp. Apply over face and hair. This is such a great firming mask that aging movie stars have been known to put it in the cups of their bras to make their breasts "perky." (Just make sure that you don't use too much honey and you use a sturdy bra.)
* HONEY MASK. Apply pure honey (straight from the bottle) to your face and neck. Allow it to set until dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with very warm water.

* MILK OF MAGNESIA. Apply it straight from the bottle. Let it dry for about five to ten minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then gently pat your face dry with a fluffy towel.

* PEPTO BISMOL. This is a face mask particularly suited for those with sensitive skin. In the same way that this product coats the stomach, it gently caresses the face. Apply it straight from the bottle, using a cotton swab. Allow to dry, then rinse with cool water.

Mineral Make Up – The Facts

Mineral makeup is more than just a new beauty trend. It claims health benefits for skin as well. But is it really help?

As beauty legend has it, it was the mid-1970s, in the aftermath of the frenzied Haight-Ashbury love-ins of San Francisco, that a quiet, little cosmetic revolution was born.

It was called "mineral makeup" – products made of all natural, finely ground minerals from the earth, without any of the chemicals, dyes, and preservatives found in traditional makeup. Fast-forward some 30 years: Mineral makeup is virtually exploding the beauty market.

"This is an extremely popular style of makeup – and it's something that a lot of my patients use and love, and I use it myself. It's also the product most patients ask about," says Kathryn Frew, MD, a dermatologist at Juva Skin and Laser Center and MediSpa in New York City.

And while mineral makeup comes in a variety of forms – and at prices ranging from less than $10 to more than $50 per product -- undoubtedly the most popular in all price ranges are the loose powder foundations and blushes. These are light, finely ground loose minerals that are buffed into the skin using a wide, fluffy brush.

But does "natural," "mineral," and "from the earth" really equal better?  WebMD discovered the answer has a lot of qualifying factors -- and some vastly differing opinions.

Mineral Makeup and Skin Health

Like most cosmetic products, mineral makeup has its fans and its critics. Those who love it rave about the light, natural, long-lasting glow that simply can't be duplicated by other types of makeup.  Others, however, complain it's drying, irritating, and accentuates wrinkles and adds years to your appearance. Some say the colors have an ashy undertone that is a particular problem for ethnic skin types.

But looks aside, many consumers also say they are initially drawn to try mineral makeup because of skin health claims – more specifically, that it's pure formulations are safer and better for sensitive, even acne- or rosacea-prone skin.

But is it?

"Quite frankly, I think mineral makeup is just a genius marketing plan -- a  new way of selling women the same ingredients that technically have been in makeup for years," says dermatologic and pharmaceutical chemist Ben Kaminsky, author of the new book Beyond Botox: 7 Secrets for Sexy, Ageless Skin.

The main ingredients (minerals such as mica, zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide), says Kaminsky, have been the basis of most makeup foundations for decades. And he says mineral makeup has no special health or beauty properties.

"Mineral makeup can cause problems the same as any other preparations can cause problems. It's not purer; there's no scientific proof of that," he says.

But other experts see it a bit differently. Many dermatologists report that because mineral makeup frequently eliminates classic "irritants" – like fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives -- it is considered "purer" and can be kinder to the skin.

Men's cosmetic

The Do's and Don'ts About Men's cosmetic

For a woman, it is easy to know the basic nuances of how to apply cosmetics, as she watches her mother doing it all through her childhood. Thus she comes to know all the ethics and their pros and cons, much before she actually realizes what it is.
But for a man, who is guided, against the traditions, by his inner urge to look “beautiful”, the application of cosmetics becomes a messy process. Naturally, he was not trained to do so in his childhood. Thus he must learn to do it the right way.
No Foundations With Facial Hair : It is okay if you love to use foundations to hide spots, scars and pimples on your face. But behold! You need to have a clean shave before you apply foundations. It helps you stop it making visible on your facial hair.
Concealers Go Well : Because you have beards, it doesn't mean that you have no right to hide the blemishes and spots on your face. You can think of applying concealers. Concealers and facial hair go well with each other.

Concealers Should be Lighter : There is a problem with concealers. They tend to reveal their identity if happen to be darker than the skin tone. So always use something which is slightly lighter in color than your skin tone.
Say No to Oily Foundation : An oily foundation is most suitable for a woman. But for a man, the water solution is the best buy. As this solution tends to be thin, it does not get clotted on the skin. Thus leaving no clue that you are wearing makeup.
No Glittering Moisturizer : Sellers in the name of mens moisturizers, may turn up giving you something made for women. They make your face look oily and shining. So ask for a genuine products which matches you skin tone. Remember it must match you skin tone.
When to Say No To Foundation Again : If you need to attend a press conference or you want to steal the limelight at a party, then there is no way the need to apply foundations. These are the places where you have to face cameramen. Thus with every click, you face will shine more than the camera flashes. Thus avoid foundation and apply powder which matches your skin tone.

Dark Eyeliners are Dreading : It is okay to apply light eyeliners as they give a definite look to your eyelashes. But there is no rational behind applying too deep ones. They make you look womanish. So no way you are allowed to compromise with your masculinity.

No to Colored Mascara : If you love to give your lashes some length and make them look fuller, then use clear mascara only. The colored mascara become noticeable after hours and make a mess on the face.

Men's Info : Men's fragrances Trend

These days men are more aware of their personal appearance and less intimidated by fragrance products. With presence of word ?metrosexuals? on every corner you would expect that trend in men?s fragrances is towards fresh fruit accords and sweeter floral notes that would give men?s fragrances more of a feminine approach.

The rediscovery of male sexuality doesn?t necessarily mean that all men are crazy for their feminine side. Many of men (and women) are becoming afraid of where this whole ?metrosexual? thing is going. When it comes to scents, it becomes even truer.

Men do not want to smell like women, and women also do not want them to smell like women. Thankfully, trend in fashion is towards classic elegant looks and men?s fragrance industry is following that trend.

The hot trend in the men?s fragrance world these days are men?s fragrances that evoke a masculine attitude. It means unisex thing is dead. Woody oriental will be buzzword in fragrances for men for next few years. Also popular is use of rare, more exotic and diferent spicy notes in every product which lend the brand?s signature.

Trend is bigger scale of distinction among brands, which produces unique, recognizible style of every product.

New big trend in men?s fragrance industry is using a celebrity to create his own fragrance (with a little help of professionals) in attempt to entice buyers to identify with characteristics of celebrity by using his fragrance product. It is up to you to choose will you fall for this or not, but our recommendation is: stick to classic men?s fragrances makers.

Trends in daytime men?s fragrances will remain crisp and cool scents, as men still want to be fresh and clean during the day. Fruit notes will hardly find their way into men?s fragrances this year, but expect more of aromatic woody blends. Classics will prevail, with oriented and spicy fragrances that will be clean and not overpowering. ?Sport? fragrances will continue to influence world of men?s daywear fragrances. Cool, fresh, less aromatic spices with warm, woody fragrances will be generally trend in daytime fragrances.

For evening, lighter, crisp daytime scents will not be an option. Spicy warm Orientals with precious woods scents and new exotic spice notes will find their way into evening fragrances for men. Scents will be stronger, more classic and more macho, with new dash of elegance through more romantic, woody fragrance.

With seeing a lot of return to the traditional, men?s fragrances are, in general, more masculine, unique, cultured and classic.
