Cleaning Your House

Clean a House With Homemade Remedies

With the shape of the economy these days-people are trying to save as much money as they can-and home remedies are a great way to do it. You can keep your home clean and fresh without spending much money or smelling those harsh toxins in cleaning products. Here are some easy cleaning remedies-with ingredients that you may already have at home!

1

Use dish detergent to mop your floors. Start by mixing 2 tablespoons of detergent into 1 gallon of water. This mixture will give your floors a shiny surface that is easy to rinse (I also like to add scented fragrance to the mop water to get rid of odors). Try using this to clean your windows also, and wipe with dryer sheets to avoid lint.

2

Soak 4 cups of thyme in 1 gallon of water for several days to get rid of that icky mildew that sticks to your bathtub and sinks. Use this mixture and scrub down the area. Toothpaste is also a good ingredient to bleach your bathroom tiles and sinks.

3

Immerse a damp cloth in white vinegar to wipe any chrome surfaces clean. You can also soak any chrome items in the vinegar. A baking soda and water mixture is also great on chrome surfaces and ovens. To clean an oven, scrub it with baking soda and water. Leave the cleaning solution overnight and wipe clean the next day.

4

Spray denture cleaner all over the toilet bowl and leave overnight to get rid of all the germs that collect. Scrub the bowl with a brush the next day. You can also drop three Vitamin C capsules in the bowl.

5

Freshen a room with your own air freshener. Besides mopping your floor with scented water, you can also create homemade air fresheners. Saturate a ball of cotton with your favorite scent and put it in an open container or put scented oil on your light bulbs (the heat from the bulbs will create a fragrance in the air). You can also put it in the vacuum cleaner bag while you vacuum. For a clean, outdoor scent, immerse spruce tree cones in water for 24 hours. Boil for 2 hours and put it in a humidifier. Another way to bring a natural scent to your kitchen is to boil grapefruit, lemon and oranges and let it simmer for an hour.

6

Polish and protect your furniture by creating your own polish. Mix 1 teaspoon of olive oil and ½ cup of lemon juice. Put mixture in a spray bottle, spray and wipe with a dry cloth. Another way to create furniture polish is by mixing 1 tablespoon of lemon oil with 4 cups of mineral oil.

Manage Your Blood Sugar While Drinking

Holiday parties are just as big a part of the season as ole' Tannenbaum and partridges in pear trees. And the one thing that makes these seasonal parties such a hit? Alcohol, and lots of it.

Alcohol has long been a staple at holiday parties, from hearty eggnog and spiced cider to neon-colored mixed concoctions and the traditional brewskie. But, with so many alcoholic drinks available and being enjoyed, it can be easy to forget about the effects the drinks are having on your body.

Besides causing the well-known effect of drunkenness, alcohol wreaks havoc upon the body's blood sugar, which can pose serious health problems for someone who lives with diabetes or who takes certain prescription medications.

Alcohol not only lowers blood glucose levels over the long term, but mixed drinks with their high sugar content can cause a sharp spike in blood glucose levels, which can be just as dangerous to a person with diabetes.

Research shows that shortly after drinking (and up to 12 hours later) the body can enter a state of hypoglycemia. For diabetics, the symptoms of hypoglycemia can be nearly identical to that of being drunk - disorientation, sleepiness and dizziness. One of the biggest concerns is that friends and family often are unable to discern the difference between someone who had a little too much to drink and someone who is in a medically dangerous situation. The amount of alcohol a diabetic drinks is important to monitor because, according to the American Diabetes Association, the body needs about one hour to break down a single ounce of alcohol.

Therefore, it's up to the individual to learn how to manage their own blood sugar while drinking.

Contrary to common belief, most diabetics don't need to strictly avoid alcoholic beverages. Today's research indicates that many diabetics can drink a moderate amount of alcohol without risk of compromising their health. That said, there are certain things they need to keep in mind when drinking to keep their blood sugar level in a safe area. Of course, anyone who has diabetes should always consult their doctor before drinking alcohol as they may have specific reasons for avoiding it.

Find Out Men Beauty Secrets Here

An Alert For All Men Out There!

Men's Beauty Tips

Men's Skin Care Needs

1. Men's skin has larger pores, on average, than women's skin, so it is more prone to oiliness and gets dirtier faster. Daily cleaning is a necessity. Products to look for should be all-natural and fragrance- free, if possible, because the skin does not need extra irritation. Men need to rely on their skin alone, without enhancements such as makeup or eyebrow tweaking. On top of this, shaving daily gives their skin an extra irritation that needs care. Because men's skin tends toward oiliness, care needs to be taken to choose the right moisturizer.

Facial Mask Recipe for Men

2. There are several lines of skin-care products especially for men. Choose one with as few synthetic ingredients as possible, or make your own. You can buy benzoate clay in bulk at many health-food stores. This clay is an excellent base for most male skin. Add to the clay some raw honey, green matcha tea (a specialty Japanese tea powder and great antioxidant), and water to even out the consistency. Spread onto your clean face, lie down and relax for about 15 minutes. Wash off. This mask should remove impurities, tighten pores, moisturize and add a healthy glow. It's great before a date!

Exfoliate

3. Men's skin needs to be kept extra clean. Using a simple scrub helps to keep skin clean, remove dead skin cells and tighten pores. Again, there are many men's brands on the market, or you can make your own. Try this sugar rub: Simply mix brown sugar with sesame oil, rub it on your face and wash off. This scrub will not overly dry your skin, but will remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate the appearance.

Moisturize

4. The best moisturizer for men is the light variety. Try pure aloe vera gel, straight from the plant if you can. If not, look for it in a health-food store where you can be more certain of getting a pure product. Also, try pure vitamin E on your freshly-cleansed skin. This should help against blemishes and also be light enough for most men's skin.

Shaving

5. Shaving is very harsh on skin. Aloe vera works as an after-shave that will tighten pores and not dry or damage skin like alcohol will. Treat your face as carefully as you can before and after shaving, by gently cleansing before, and treating with either aloe vera or a similar, non-alcohol product after.

Exercise to Enhance Beauty

6. Exercise induces sweat, which removes toxins from the body. It also relieves stress, which, among other benefits, enhances beauty. Having a strong, muscular body not only makes you more beautiful, it most likely increases your confidence, which is one of the best beauty enhancers.

Anti Ageing Remedies At Home

Many people hate the thought of aging. While there is a wealth of products on the market today some people prefer to use natural products. In these slow economic times using natural products from your kitchen will prevent putting a hole in your wallet and if you do use anti aging products these ingredients can work in conjunction with your store bought face creams.

So what are the best ingredients you can use on your skin for anti - aging? When you go into your kitchen you will find most of the ingredients in your cupboard or refrigerator.

Vitamin E is good for your skin and the there are a number of oils you can use on your skin. You can use olive oil, apricot oil, almond oil, wheat germ oil and coconut oil. All these oils contain vitamin E and are great for your skin. Before you apply wash your face thoroughly with warm water to open up the pores. This will help the oil penetrate faster. You can use at night or during the day. If you use make up, make sure you wait thirty minutes before applying your powder or foundation. If you don't like the oily feeling on your skin during the day, then use only at night.

Green tea, not only for drinking but you can apply it on your face as well to instantly rejuvenate your skin.

Not many people know this, but potato is great for anti aging as it has a great lifting effect. You can put a slice of potato on each eye and relax for twenty minutes or you can puree it together with apple sauce and apply to the whole face. Leave on for fifteen to thirty minutes then cleanse of using luke warm water.

Oatmeal is also great for a face mask as it is highly nourishing. You can mix oatmeal with honey and lemon juice and leave on for thirty minutes. After wards cleanse of with luke warm water and tone and apply moisturizer. Honey can also be used on its own as a mask. Before applying cleanse the skin with warm water to open the pores then apply a thin layer of honey. Skin will feel softer instantly.

A great natural ingredient for instant lifting is egg white. Apply directly to the face and lay back for thirty minutes. As the egg white dries you will feel the pulling on your skin. Egg white can be difficult to cleanse off so you can use a cleansing milk first then rinse off with warm water.

Mayonnaise makes a good moisturising mask. Apply directly to the skin leave on for fifteen to twenty minutes. Before cleansing off massage it into the skin for a short while then cleanse off with luke warm water.

Love Your Nail!

Your Nails are special..
Proper Nail Care..

Do not subject your hands and nails to extremely hot water, harsh chemicals, and strong household cleaners. Do wear gloves.

Do apply hand lotion regularly to keep the hands moisturized and aid nails that crack or chip. If nails are soft and tend to tear, avoid putting lotion on the nails themselves.

Do use a cuticle cream daily or massage a dab of olive oil into the cuticles.

Don't file or buff the nails excessively. This can think and weaken nails.

Do be alert to allergic reactions from formaldehyde in nail polish or acrylics in sculptured nails, tips, and nail glues. The reaction may show up as a rash or itchiness on places touched by the nails, like the eyelids, cheeks, or neck - rather than on the less sensitive skin of the hands.

Manicure Basics:

A home manicure, once you learn the basics, can be an easy weekly routine to improve the appearance of your nails and hands.

File each nail with an emery board from the sides in toward the center. File in one direction only, don't "saw" back and forth.

Soak fingertips in warm soapy water to soften cuticles.

Apply cuticle remover and gently push back the cuticle with the blunt end of an orangewood stick.

Trim any hangnails with a small nail scissors. Do not otherwise cut the cuticle, as it is the protective barrier for the growth center of the nail.
Scrub nails in soapy water and clean under the nails with an orangewood stick wrapped in cotton.

Dry hands and apply hand lotion.

Polish Tips:

Polishing the nails creates a finished look, but your nails will be healthier if you let them go at least one day a week without polish. Here are some tips for a professional looking polish job:

Wipe nails with polish remover after the manicure to remove any residue of soap or lotion.

Don't polish the underside of the nail. When it's time to remove the polish, chemicals in the polish remover can life the nail away from the nail bed, providing a chance for infection to develop.

Apply a base coat and two to three thin coats of polish, rather than one thick one, for better coverage. An additional clear top coat protects against chipping.

Tidy up polish that's strayed onto the fingers with the following tool: a moistened toothpick wrapped in a bit of cotton puff and saturated in nail polish remover.

If you have to dry polish quickly, try dipping fingers carefully in a bowl of ice water.

Polish nails away from direct sunlight, which may cause bubbles in the finish.

Today Tips!

You can enjoy your life since early in the morning.

This is a short tip or interesting tidbit of news about both your health and your beauty. So let's get right to it with our first set of tips.

YOUR HEALTH

Women consume an average of 100 less calories per day if they eat breakfast in the morning. So what should we eat in the morning? Anything that isn't too high in fat and calories goes. Let me give you an example.

Bowl of Oatmeal with Banana Slices
Whole Wheat Bagel sandwich with turnkey, low-fat cheese and scrambled egg
Yogurt or cottage cheese with some fresh fruit
Yogurt or Tofu smoothie with berries
scrambled egg with toast...

YOUR BEAUTY

Beautiful Thick Eye Lashes

Here's a little trick on how to get those beautiful thick lashes without caking on a lot of mascara (and end up looking like a tarantula). While you are dusting some powder on your face, use it to dust your lashes as well. Then follow with a coat or two of good mascara and you're done.

It just simple & easy..
